Class Description
This class is for dancers familiar with contemporary dance forms that want to continue building improvisation and choreographic practice. Katie's approach guides dancers through improvisation prompts and coaching to create a framework for choreographic scores. Dancers can expect to work both collaboratively and on their own during this two hour workshop.
About the Teacher
Kathryn Florez (she/her) is the Artistic Director of Fullstop Dance, a project-based contemporary dance company, as well as a freelance performer and teacher. Her choreography, teaching, and dancing have been commissioned all over the West Coast. As a freelance artist she's worked with Jennifer Perfilio, David Herrera Performance Company, ZiRu Dance and others.
Please pre-register to take a class. Participants should arrive around 20 minutes early to claim their spot in class. The first 30 pre-registered people to show up will get to take class.
What should I bring?
• Danceable clothing that you’re comfortable in!
• Face mask, if desired. Masks are optional in class.
• We recommend taking class barefoot or in socks, some styles in clean sneakers
• Water bottle
